Job Description

As a Security Officer - Tech Front Desk in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more .

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a leading technology location, you will be the first point of contact for employees, visitors, and guests. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing a welcoming presence while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will utilize your strong communication skills to deliver exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries or concerns in a professional manner. This post requires comfort with using computers or tablets to manage visitor logs and access systems. As this is a driving post, a valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal's driver policy. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist employees, visitors, and guests at the front desk, providing a professional and welcoming presence.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying identification and credentials, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
• Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to security-related activities and front desk operations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of visitors, deliveries, and incidents as required by site protocols.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, staff, and visitors to address inquiries and provide information.
• Support emergency response activities as directed, following Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
