This position will support the NASA EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program’s (EHP) Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Project SEI team – part of the Artemis portfolio at the NASA Johnson Space Center. As part of this team, you will serve as a systems engineer/senior systems engineer and test lead. In this role, you will (1) support SEI and risk reduction activities for the LTV project and LTV vendors including requirement verification and validation support, and (2) coordinate, plan, manage, execute, and assess corresponding test activities.
Work Model: 100% onsite; option for hybrid with 2-3 days onsite and 2-3 days remote per week based on experience and expertise
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the LTV Project SEI office at NASA Johnson Space Center, which is responsible for the definition, development, and implementation of the LTV in support of the Artemis architecture.
- Work with the project V&V lead to support verification and validation of LTV project and LTV vendor requirements
- Work with the LTV project test team to strategize, coordinate, plan, manage, execute, and assess corresponding test activities within the project as well as with other projects, tech authorities, and SMEs
- Review CRs related to testing (external documents routed to LTV for review/comment) and other CRs, as needed
- Assist with project lifecycle reviews (generated slide content, present as needed)
- Working with LTV SEI Cross-Stakeholder Integration lead and Insight team to review test deliverables from contractors and assist with any needed planning/coordination across NASA internal teams

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Project Engineer
- Bachelor of Science degree or advanced degree in engineering or science
- 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering, test and evaluation
- Knowledge and understanding of the NASA program life cycle and associated milestone reviews
- Working experience in CMW, SharePoint, and wiki pages
- Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
- Ability to work in a quick-paced, small core team that leads technical discussions across a large technical community and influences teams across the NASA enterprise
- Initiative and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
- Excellent teaming and leadership skills with an ability to multi-task across various issues/disciplines simultaneously
- Excellent presentation and communications skills, including development of and briefing of decision packages and complex information in a succinct and polished manner.
- Experience working across diverse teams and many different engineering disciplines
- Knowledge of space flight certification processes to ensure performance and safety requirements are met
Senior Project Engineer
Same requirements as a Project Engineer noted above, in addition to:
- At least 12 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering, test and evaluation, NASA program lifecycle,
