About the Position

This position will serve as an Engineer Associate Senior within the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Construction & Materials Division, working on Transportation and Maintenance Improvement Projects, including federally funded projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in construction and office activities. This will process closeout documentation for TIP and MIP projects, as outlined in the essential job tasks. This position will be responsible for monitoring contractor compliance with federal requirements, including Buy America Build America (BABA), Title VI, federal labor standards (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts - DBRA), and the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) program. This position will also be responsible for daily federal aid tasks, including project initiation through project closeout, for all federal aid projects. The position utilizes various software systems for project management, project scheduling, cost analysis, and federal labor compliance and DBE reporting. This position will serve as the primary contact and disseminator of information for public information, legal holds, and claims for the Construction & Materials Division. This position will also act as the primary contact and disseminator of federal aid information for the Department.

We Require

  • Two years of professional pre-registration civil engineering experience or hydrology experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, etc.), Landscape Architecture, Surveying, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field

  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) may substitute for the experience requirement

  • Postgraduate degrees in a related or professional-level experience may substitute for education or experience on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.
