This position is responsible of overseeing the daily operations of the Interment Services Department. The primary task is to ensure interments are performed according to all legal requirements, park rules and regulations, and department procedures. This position is also responsible to provide ongoing maintenance of individual gravesites as requested by property owners. The following responsibilities and expectations exist for this position in interment services.Essential Job Functions: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. In addition to the specific responsibilities below, an Interment Supervisor is expected to have a strong working knowledge and practical skills in all areas of the interment operation. An Interment Supervisor is primarily responsible for the following:
- Ensure staff works at a sufficient pace to meet productivity standards.
- Ensure quality of work performed consistently meets stated quality goals.
- Ensure staff adheres to stated safety procedures at all times.
- Provide proactive service and timely follow through for all internal and external customers.
- Actively support the Rose Hills Company Strategic Plan.
- Provide effective department leadership for the staff by:
- Establishing and maintaining clear staff performance expectations.
- Establishing and maintaining clear written job procedures.
- Providing constructive feedback and positive recognition.
- Taking corrective action when required.
- Delivering meaningful and timely performance appraisals.
- Providing ongoing training and skill development.
- Enforce park etiquette standards at all times.
- Enforce uniform policy to ensure professional appearance at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrate knowledge and appropriate application of regulations, policies, and procedures including OSHA and Protective Equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Leadership skills and the desire to manage people
- Spanish bilingual, strongly preferred
- Cognitive Ability including reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly, learn from experience, and appropriately apply learning to new situations.
- Process and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives
- Applies best practices in documenting business requirements in an iterative way, particularly using agile methodologies
- Ability to create clear reports and data visualizations to assist in decision-making and problem analysis
- Must have a positive attitude, a drive to continually advance your understanding of the industry and business, and highly self-motivated
- Professional written and verbal communication skills including public speaking, collaboration, and negotiation
- Proficient MS Office Suite skills
- Software data base skills proficient to enter data and run standard reports in proprietary software HMIS
- Ability to work some weekends or late nights
- Requires a valid California Driver’s License.

- Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Provide oversight, guidance, and coaching including regular informal and formal feedback, identifying developmental needs, and tracking progress. Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps. - Build effective business relationships across the organization
- Provide and document regular training, cross training, skill enhancement, and educational opportunities for all staff.
- Ensure all staff are trained in the Department Policies and Procedures and operate safely within the guidelines.
- Actively promote Town Hall Meetings to encourage open employee communication, and encourage contributions and suggestions from all staff to foster teamwork and unity.
- Ensure that the goods and services the Department provided are aligned with customer needs and support the Company strategic initiatives
Work Environment
- Work is primarily outside in a variety of weather conditions and consists of standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending while on pavement and uneven ground.
