The Medical Surgical Portfolio strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions.

The Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) business is working together with the global healthcare community to solve clinically meaningful problems, with technologies and solutions for blood oxygen management, respiratory compromise, and perioperative complications from hospital to home settings.

We are seeking a committed professional to join our team. While this is a remote position not located at a physical Medtronic site, the candidate hired will be required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role.

This role covers the western part of the United States and will be traveling 50-60% of the time including overnight.

A Day in the Life

As a Principal Key Account Clinical Specialist with our ACM Operating Unit (OU), you will enhance the clinical selling process by providing expert-level knowledge of Medtronic pulse oximetry, capnography, our multi-parameter wearable for continuous vital sign monitoring, and remote monitoring portfolio. You will be responsible for US Zone-based field sales support providing advanced level clinical expertise and leadership and will include top high level presentations, C-Suite level engagements, and attending hospital department and divisional meetings.  You will drive hospital adoption and conversions of ACM technologies and market share gain working closely with regional and IDN sales teams as well as market development and sales leaders. This position is actively involved in both pre- and post-sale technology presentations and consultation; fostering elements, processes, and build champions in key accounts that result in successful product adoption and customer satisfaction/loyalty.  

  • Acquire and maintain expert-level knowledge of Medtronic Pulse Oximetry & Capnography Products.
  • Develop and deliver educational forums to zone MCAS teams, collecting input from the teams, and building clinical acumen.
  • Ability to perform advanced clinical technology presentations and scientific discussions on Medtronic ACM portfolio in designated key strategic accounts.
  • Collaboratively manage the respective key accounts with the Account Exec and MCAS teams, building and maintaining clinical champion relationships.
  • Able to handle multiple, complex tasks, prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Align with product marketing teams to support collateral material and programs for existing portfolio as well as new product launches to meet strategic goals.
  • Attend regional, zone-based, or national meetings in support of corporate initiatives working with ACM marketing and sales training department as needed.
  • Execute on New Product Launches focused on areas of responsibilities.
  • Elevate MCAS team clinical acumen on various aspects of Medtronic ACM Products and Technology.
  • Consultation and participation with local regional sales teams in the evaluation of new and existing products.
  • Conduct demonstrations (side-by-side) and evaluations for Nellcor, Microstream, and wearable continuous monitoring technologies.
  • Function as supporting contributor in HealthCast portfolio initiatives as directed. 
  • Creates and maintains a SFDC database of key account information, including Pipeline, account profiles, opportunities, and any other pertinent information. Performs special projects as requested.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required,
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a licensed clinician (RN or RRT)  in an acute care set
