The Senior Manager of US Compliance and Reporting is a key leadership role within Keysight’s Tax Department. The ideal candidate will have in-depth tax technical knowledge, proficiency in tax accounting complexities, and practical experience with corporate mergers and acquisitions.
The Senior Manager of US Compliance and Reporting reports to the Director of Tax Reporting and Compliance and is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the domestic income tax provision, the US federal and state income tax return filings, and state and property tax audits. This position will also support on the consolidated provision, US federal tax audits, mergers and acquisitions, and special projects. The role leads a team in the US, with a significant portion of the US tax compliance prepared by members of Keysight’s tax team located in India.
The preferred location for this position is Santa Rosa, but Keysight Tax will consider qualified candidates for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Review of the US federal and state income tax and US property tax returns
- Manage the domestic return calendar to ensure timely filing of all returns
- Oversee all aspects of the US income tax preparation process to ensure accuracy and efficiency, including producing audit-ready workpapers
- Manage the US domestic tax provision process, including detailed review of tax adjustments, fluctuation analysis, return-to-provision review, and journal entry review
- Respond to financial statement audit and US income tax audit queries
- Manage state income tax and property tax audits
- Support on income tax disclosure preparation and review
- Oversee the OneSource Income Tax software and drive process improvements and coordination with other technology applications
- Manage tax accounting, purchase accounting, and US tax return complexities of mergers and acquisitions
- Perform research and analysis on significant tax law changes
- Assist with the consolidated uncertain tax position process and review
- Manage the federal tax positions taken by the company and analyze the impacts of US tax law changes
- Manage SOX control compliance and support on SOX audit processes
- Assist with special projects such as the analysis of income tax consequences of transactions and tax advice relating to other business initiatives
- Train and mentor team members
- Manage the India Tax Team functionally reporting to this role, including providing technical instruction, oversight, and guidance
- Collaborate across the business, the finance organization and the Keysight global tax team
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in accounting. CPA and/or Masters in Tax preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of tax experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or equivalent experience in a tax department of a large multi-national corporation.
- Solid understanding of and experience with ASC740 and accounting principles.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong accounting, analytical and computer skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, organizations and with external contacts.
- High degree of accuracy and proven ability to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
- The individual must have the highest standards of integrity.
The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.
California pay range: MIN $159,950- MAX $266,580
