Job Description

Summary:

The Accounting Intern will support the accounting team with various accounting projects and tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and book journal entries
  • Review clearing items in various GL accounts
  • Book cash transactions in the general ledger
  • Provide overall support to the Accounting team
  • Assist with the completion of balance sheet reconciliations

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Must have a basic knowledge of accounting
  • Must be currently working on an accounting degree from a reputable institution
  • A basic knowledge of internal controls and understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word applications
  • Must have aptitude for attending to details and highly value accuracy
  • Proactive self-started with the ability to work independently and in teams

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
