dsm-firmenich has an immediate opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented and motivated Lead Technician to join the Encapsulation Lab in the Perfumery & Beauty Division located in Plainsboro, NJ.  As a Lead Technician you will prepare fragranced delivery systems that support proactive and client-initiated fragrance and technology development projects.  You will collaborate with a cross-functional team both locally and globally to ensure that requests are satisfied on time with a high standard of quality. This vital role supports the delivery of fragrance technology solutions that drive performance across the Home Care and Body Care categories resulting in products that delight consumers.

Your key responsibilities

• Preparation and synthesis of fragranced microcapsules
• Characterization/analysis of capsules to ensure all global quality standards are met
• Prioritize efficiently to ensure all requests are satisfied in a timely manner
• Organize/maintain inventory of capsules and synthesis materials
• Support the transfer/validation of next-generation capsules
• Establish/maintain a network of working relationships within the global encapsulation community

You bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other relevant field along with a minimum of 3 years of practical laboratory experience.
• Previous experience in the fragrance/flavor industry strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills with proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Self-starter, with strong sense of ownership, assertive and passionate for high level of client satisfaction
• Ability to work comfortably in a very fast paced environment with short project deadlines
