The Primary Casualty Group of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our New York office.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Utilizing authority to underwrite and price loss sensitive casualty (deductibles, SIRs, retros) and Guaranteed Cost business for the following lines of coverage: Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability, while adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines.
Establishing and maintain broker relationships in the Northeast region with a concentration on primary casualty business
Development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.
Working collaboratively with home office, marketing and distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal in an effort to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of primary casualty insurance placements.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
College degree preferred, with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience underwriting Primary Casualty loss sensitive insurance
CPCU, CRIS, ARM or other insurance certifications are a plus
Should have experience and/or expertise in working with a broad array of program structures – guaranteed cost to large deductibles to captives
Existing relationships with Northeast brokers handling primary casualty business
Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business
Strong relationship management skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills
Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment
