Job Summary
We are looking for a Full-Time Occupational Health Nurse (RN) to support our client in Huntsville, Alabama. This is an onsite position that will work Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm CST.
This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness triage, assessment, treatment, and wellness education for employees in a clinic setting within the nursing scope of practice as directed by CHR and State Guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director.
- Communicate and update EHS and site supervisors on all work-related injuries/illnesses.
- Assist in managing, coordinating, documentation of Workers Comp claims & communicating with Client's Work Comp Director, assisting with Injury & Illness management.
- Input and update all work-related injuries/illnesses in EMR.
- Maintain Electronic Medical Record and ensure complete & accurate documentation.
- Communicate with Client's Human Resources department and Work Comp Director to keep them well-informed of employees with work restrictions, work-related absences, etc.
- Performs regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests, urine test, immunizations, heat stress.
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the client's substance abuse policy.
- May perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and other training as necessary.
- Provides preventive health education to employees as needed within scope of practice.
- Maintains clinic utilization reports.
- Participates in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, medical records, scheduling, filing, copying charts, traffic control).
- Maintain clinic's medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staff.
- Maintains communication with the Clinic Medical Director, Program Manager, & client as necessary.
- Ensures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances.
- Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid State RN license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred.
- Must hold current BLS certification.
- 3–5 years RN experience required
- 2-3 years' experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred
- Certification in Occupational Health preferred
