Regional Manager - Philanthropic Events

Summary: Using creativity, attention-to-detail, and excellent communication skills, the Regional Manager – Philanthropic Events is responsible for planning and executing successful events aimed at raising awareness, engagement, and funds for the Rosecrance Foundation in Chicago, Rockford, Champaign and Sioux City, Iowa. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event-planning and a track record of raising philanthropic support through both large and small events.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Proven experience in event planning with a focus on fundraising events of $100K+

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with donors, sponsors, benefactors, volunteers, and team members

Strong project management skills for events of all sizes (10 – 700 people) with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and meet hard deadlines

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset

Ability to resolve issues independently having garnered input from others

Highly collaborative with the ability to work at all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams and the ability to initiate use of an event planning software

Donor/customer-service oriented

Must have access to a car and have the willingness and ability to travel up to 100-200 miles (when necessary). May include overnight travel to Iowa.

Willingness to work on evenings and weekends as necessary

Resourceful, highly organized, and able to prioritize

Ability to maintain confidentiality and support the development staff and board members in tracking and soliciting giving to Rosecrance

Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance, serving as a role model for Rosecrance staff, clients, benefactors and sponsors
Essential Responsibilities:

Event Planning: Lead development colleagues and board volunteers to design and execute fundraising and stewardship events from conception to completion, including but not limited to galas, auctions, charity walks, and donor cultivation and appreciation events in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin

Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring that expenses are kept within budgetary constraints while maximizing fundraising potential.

Sponsorship Acquisition: Assist the Directors of Development and the Senior VP of the Rosecrance Foundation with identifying corporate sponsors, partners, and donors for events, helping to define sponsorship packages to maximize revenue and ensuring that all obligations and promises to benefactors and sponsors are fulfilled in a timely fashion.

Donor Cultivation: Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, sponsors, and supporters to foster long-term engagement and support for Rosecrance.

Logistics Coordination: Using Teams and Basecamp, coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including but not limited to venue selection, catering, entertainment, audiovisual requirements, vendors, assistance from Mar Comm and transportation, sticking to firm timelines and budgetary requirements

Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with event planning and execution, ensuring that tasks are delegated and completed effectively

Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to increase revenue and maximize the impact of fundraising events

Post-Event Evaluation: Support effective and timely pre/post event activity for each event, including agendas/notes/minutes, meetings, evaluations, thank you letters, PO/payments, and other event details as appropriate.

Team Participation: Serve as a member of the development team and participate in all team meetings and activities as assigned, working occasional evening and weekend hours and assuming other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned
Schedule: 40 hours/week, full-time
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Remote work ok - but must be available for meetings in the office
Location: Must be located in either Rockford or the Chicago area
