Job Summary:
The Senior Labor Coordinator is responsible for the overall labor coordination for a shift of production, using various labor systems. This includes the sourcing, training, and managing of workers to ensure that the company’s labor requirements are fulfilled. This Senior position also includes the supervision of the Labor Coordinator team for their facility and maintaining and communicating all labor processes along with managing, approving, and communicating all exception reports.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Employee Scheduling
- Schedule production employees on lines each day
- Recruit and source the required number of employees from various staffing agency partners ensuring diversification of staffing agency usage
- Adjust employees’ hours and ensure accuracy of hours in Mongoose
- Take attendance each morning and communicate variances to Production Supervisor
Employee Training
- Onboard new employees daily
- Administer Alchemy training for all employees yearly
- Attend monthly training meetings with team leaders and operators
Employee Management
- Maintain a positive work environment to ensure creative werks is the employer of choice for all employees
- Enforce disciplinary rules and actions for production employees and report to HR including employee terminations in accordance with company policy
- Mediate and deescalate conflicts between employees at the lines
- Manage all other employee issues, including personal, performance, attendance, etc. and communicate actions taken with Supervisor
- Act as translator between employees who have difficulty communicating with each other
- Ensure all employees have correct payrates and submit changes when necessary
- Approve and report all exceptions
Employee Safety
- Communicate safety as the number one priority for employees by encouraging safe work practices and immediately addressing safety concerns
- Present weekly Toolbox Talks to all employees to help instill a constant safety-based mindset
- Initiate accident reports for all safety incidents
- Oversee daily knife checkout log
- Participate in monthly safety meeting and submit a weekly safety observation to Safety department
General Duties
- Supervise the work of the Labor Coordinator(s) that work in the facility
- Review, revise, maintain, and communicate all Labor Coordinator processes to the team
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic math aptitude
- Intermediate computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Bi-lingual preferred but not required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
Working Conditions:
- Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
- Able to work a flexible shift; weekend work may be required
Physical Requirements:
- Operate standard office equipment
- Reach with hands and arms
- Lift up to 25 pounds
