Position Summary:

 

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations while driving transformation and efficiency initiatives within the organization. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position requires a forward-thinking individual who can manage day-to-day accounting functions, ensure compliance, and lead efforts to modernize processes and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement, ideally within the financial services sector. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Accounting Operations

·       Manage day to day accounting of the US parent company as well as centralized accounting functions for revenue and fixed assets.

·       Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and compliance with accounting standards.

·       Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Treasury, Tax) to resolve accounting-related issues and support organizational goals.

·       Manage a team of 2-3 staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.

Transformation and Efficiency Initiatives

·       Lead efforts to modernize accounting processes, focusing on automation and streamlining workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.

·       Collaborate with the business process group and technology teams to implement system enhancements and automation tools.

·       Identify opportunities for process optimization, including reducing manual tasks and improving reporting capabilities.

·       Support the implementation of new accounting standards and organizational changes.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

·       Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

·       Prepare and deliver ad hoc reporting requests and provide detailed financial analysis as needed.

Compliance and Audit

·       Ensure adherence to US GAAP and internal accounting policies.

·       Coordinate with external auditors, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries.

Team Leadership and Development

·       Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
