River Oaks Country Club is seeking an Aquatics Operations Manager for our year-round pool programming. If you are proactive, enthusiastic, confident, motivated, and qualified – apply now! This team is tasked with keeping our staff, Members and their guests safe, while providing the ultimate recreational experience.
High season runs March – August with the recreational pools open Tuesday-Sunday. Mondays are reserved for mandatory in-service training. Open days vary during low season. This position should expect to operate a full schedule of programming throughout the year.
This position reports directly to the Director of Aquatics and directly supervises 4 Head Lifeguards and around 30 lifeguards.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Hires, coordinates, supervises and evaluates all staff in the Aquatics department.
- Maintains pool safety programs and training programs to enhance effectiveness of lifeguard staff and ensure the safety of members and guests when poolside.
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls and promotes the day-to-day activities, operations and programs.
- Handles grievances of staff, members, and their guests and reports them to the Director of Aquatics.
- Supervises subsidiary aquatics programs and special events in coordination with the Head Swim Coach and/or Program Administrator.
- Develop and implement a macro-cycle training plan [implied]Manages the overall on-going maintenance of the pool including the use of appropriate water chemicals.
- Provide oversight to the Head Guards to ensure that all equipment is maintained.
- Maintains all necessary records for incident reports, chemical checks, and daily attendance according to the law.
- Manage the Pro-shop. Ensure inventory is re-stocked. Partner with Head of Retail to introduce new products as required.
- Performs appropriate rescues and supplies proper first aid and/or CPR assistance needed; notifies proper authorities according to Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
- Possess a current Lifeguard Instructor certification (LGI) through an accredited organization such as American Red Cross, YMCA, or Ellis & Associates.
- Demonstrative experience performing aquatics program supervision, including management of pool and supervision of staff.
- Possesses a working knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques commonly used in pool maintenance operations including electrical, plumbing, pumps, and filtration.
- Ability to work outside in the poolside area up to 95% of the time, exposed to sunlight, wet and humid conditions, and heat exceeding 100 degrees.
- Certified Pool Operator certification preferred, but not required.
