Our Global Business Group at Nova is looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer who is a self-starter, customer-focused, technically strong, and thrives in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience supporting semiconductor equipment inside high-volume manufacturing fabs.
The Sr. Field Service Engineer will perform advanced engineering and technical activities while partnering closely with customers, internal engineering teams, and R&D to support and improve Nova systems in the field. This role requires a proactive problem solver who can independently drive customer satisfaction, mentor junior engineers, and effectively communicate technical findings through reports and presentations.
Pay Range: $56- $62 hourly (DOE)

Role Responsibilities
- Implement Nova’s Customer Support Policy and provide onsite support for Nova systems at customer semiconductor fabs
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, upgrades, installations, and recovery activities on semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- Support new equipment installations, qualifications, software upgrades, and add-ons
- Analyze equipment logs, process data, and hardware-related information to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting of customer support activities, system status, inventory usage, and service actions
- Collaborate with R&D, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Support teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Provide customer training and retraining to ensure effective operation and maintenance of Nova systems
- Mentor and train Field Service Engineers developing expertise in assigned toolsets
- Maintain spare parts inventory according to Nova policies and operational requirements
- Support sales and customer relationship activities as needed
- Deliver professional customer-facing communication and presentations demonstrating strong technical understanding and problem-solving capabilities
- Travel domestically to support customer sites and business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related Engineering discipline is required
- Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of field service or semiconductor equipment experience
- Must have hands-on experience working inside semiconductor manufacturing fabs
- Strong vacuum systems knowledge is required
- Previous experience with metrology equipment, X-ray systems, XPS, or SIMS is a plus
- Knowledge of optics, robotics wafer handling systems, mechanical systems, and GUI software is preferred
- Strong customer-facing experience in high-tech manufacturing environments
- Ability to travel domestically up to 40%
- Valid passport required

- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, ergonomics, and yield requirements
