Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Operations department has got the over-all responsibility for all IT services in production, including day-to-day operations, improvement, and lifecycle management. We strive for operational excellence fostering a culture based on competency, collaboration, and people development.
We are now looking for a Senior Application Engineer to strengthen our team. You will work in a dynamic and self-driven environment, contributing to further development of our Business Application portfolio. The position will report to Manager Application and Middleware – Infrastructure Operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operate, maintain, and improve Business Applications on multiple platforms including Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) and High-Performance Compute (HPC)
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security on a wide range of different platforms and technologies
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates for automated provisioning and configuration of Azure resources, including dockers and Kubernetes, in accordance with best practices and Statkraft security policies
- Take initiative to analyze, review and identify potential improvements and modernization points in existing environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop security strategies and implement necessary measures to protect against threats
- Stay updated with Cloud technologies, features, and industry trends, and propose improvements to infrastructure operations processes
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we believe you have:
- Five or more years of experience related to Application operations and engineering as well as significant understanding of operating models and operational excellence
- Significant and broad over-all IT Infrastructure competency.
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including container orchestration, deployment, and management
- Scripting and automation skills using Bicep, JSON, Azure DevOps, PowerShell
- Bachelor’s or master's degree within relevant fields, or relevant work experience
- Certifications related to cloud technologies is an advantage
