Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Journeyman Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our team! In this role you will get to focus on the cybersecurity aspects of system design to robustly deal with cyber-related disruptions, minimizing misuse and malicious behavior, while supporting Defensive Cyber Operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Works with customers and various SAFe® Agile engineering disciplines to analyze operational needs, decompose requirements, generate cybersecurity functional requirements, and supports the agile development of robust security posture focusing on mission and compliance, in a SAFe® construct.
- Coordinates requirements with various agile teams to ensure appropriate security requirements are met across cloud and on-prem environments and validates solutions.
- Works closely with Software Developers, System Designers, Operators, as well as industry to design security into products, develop new standards, and highlight requirement gaps to deliver systems into a long term strategically strong configuration.
- Provide system security engineering in accordance with the process, task, and activity guidelines established in DOD Instruction 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT)
- Review program requirements, deliverables and activities to determine adequacy of information security architecture, define needed risk reduction activities, and operational monitoring/defensive capabilities. Implement cybersecurity and DoD RMF activities to integrate needed security capabilities across cloud and on-prem deployments. Design and conduct risk assessments to ensure fielded security capabilities are implemented properly and adequately provide resiliency against projected threat, key activities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity/Computer Science/Engineering or other relevant field from an accredited university with minimum 2+ years (3+ highly preferred) of experience
- Must have 1 DoD 8570.01/8140.03 Certification: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst+ (CYSA+), Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GISCP), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), Certified Network Defender (CND), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security, or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

- Ability to obtain and hold a Secret clearance
- Conducts vulnerability assessments of systems and application using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
- Evaluating the effectiveness of methods used to safeguard systems, devices, procedures, and information
- Develop Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) control validation procedures, execute ST&E, and document results
- Develop documentation, policy and procedures; Ports Protocols and Services Management (PPSM); system and network diagrams, descriptions, SOPs, review previous certification and accreditation documents; compile and generate RMF artifacts (ST&E results, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in secure configuration management techniques (e.g., Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Hands-on experience in network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth)
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Masters Degree in Cybersecurity/ Computer Science/Engineering or other relevant field from an accredited university
- Top Secret OR interim/active Secret with ability to get Top Secret
- Familiarity with Defensive Cyber Operations Concepts
