The VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Overnight Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This individual will oversee the overnight RVT team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for veterinary medicine, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Oversee and manage the overnight RVT team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with VCA policies, procedures, and protocols.
Patient Care:
- Supervise and participate in the delivery of high-quality nursing care to patients.
- Monitor and manage patient flow, ensuring timely and effective treatment and care.
- Assist veterinarians in clinical procedures, surgeries, and emergency cases as needed.
Operational Management:
- Coordinate and manage overnight schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering, and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the hospital and treatment areas.
Client Relations:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and questions promptly and professionally.
- Educate clients on postoperative care, medications, and general health care for their pets.
Training & Development:
- Develop and implement training programs for new and existing RVTs.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and technology, sharing knowledge with the team.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of California.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in a referral or emergency setting.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent clinical and technical skills, with a strong foundation in emergency and critical care.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in veterinary software and electronic medical records.
