JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's College of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering seeks to hire a part-time research assistant during the summer. Job duties include:

  • build and maintain software and computer-based systems related to 3D lung imaging and bronchoscopy
  • perform laboratory studies for research related to 3D lung imaging and bronchoscopy
  • perform general lab maintenance needs within the Multidimensional Image Processing Laboratory (Dr. William E. Higgins, Director)
  • perform live patient studies at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center (PennVet)

Candidate must have an M.S. degree in electrical engineering or computer science and engineering; and knowledge in imaging science, computer vision, and general computer-based image processing, as well as experience in higher-level computer programming.

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
