About the role

Wilson & Company is seeking a Senior Pursuit Specialist to support our disciplined and intentional focus on winning work. This position manages all phases of the company’s pursuit process and lead the creation of quality proposals, presentations, and other pursuit materials. You will own and lead multi-disciplined teams in developing and executing winning strategies from opportunity identification through proposal submission and award, including complex Alternative Delivery pursuits. This role requires a dynamic and strategic thinker with a proven track record in capture management and business development in the A&E industry, capable of leading integrated teams, shaping solution-driven strategies, and navigating best-value procurement environments.

Key Responsibilities

Following Wilson & Company’s pursuit development process, using a consistent set of pursuit tools, and applying best practice/issue, solution, benefit, proof (ISBP) principles, take full ownership and leadership of pursuit team efforts to develop proposals, presentations, and supporting materials and campaigns; facilitate strategy discussions; and deliver compliant, clear, and compelling pursuits. Specific tasks include:

  • Proposal development and presentation: Develop comprehensive pursuit strategies that align with the firm's goals and objectives, including complex Alternative Delivery pursuits such as Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CM/GC, and other collaborative delivery models. Oversee the development of high-quality proposals, ensuring they are compelling, comprehensive, and aligned with client needs, delivery approach, and procurement requirements. Collaborate with subject matter experts and construction partners to ensure the content is tailored to client needs and reflects the firm's strengths across technical, commercial, and delivery considerations. Learns and understands Wilson & Company’s brand initiatives and pursuit life cycle process and develops a working knowledge of our centralized database. Help ensure pursuits are accurately tracked through the Vantagepoint pipeline. Lead presentation efforts for major pursuits, articulating the firm’s value proposition, differentiators, and integrated team approach.
  • Alternative Delivery pursuit leadership: Lead and support Alternative Delivery pursuits, including Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build, by coordinating integrated pursuit teams, aligning technical and construction strategies, and developing compliant, compelling responses to best-value procurements. Partner closely with construction teammates and internal technical leaders to shape solutions, define roles and responsibilities, manage risk narratives, and clearly articulate the team’s value within integrated delivery models.
  • Strategic pursuit leadership: Lead the development and implementation of capture strategies for major projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and success in strategic pursuits. Lead the development and execution of the entire win strategy to include win theme development, capture plan, ISBP development, competitive assessments, shaping strategy, teaming strategy, and go/no-go recommendations. Drives strategy through communicating and tracking progress on assignments and action items; continues to share updates and new information with pursuit teams; continues to refine messaging. 
  • Client account management program implementation: Participate and/or facilitate developing client interaction plans and client account management plans to help prioritize, focus, and apply appropriate levels of effort to identified clients. Partner with client account leads to understand, promote, and market Wilson & Company’s technical offerings. Continuously shape and effectively position Firm A to increase opportunities with identified clients while maintaining high-quality relationships. Collaborate with the client account management team to support the company’s strategic objectives. Ensure the use of Vantagepoint and other tools to store applicable data.
  • Team leadership and development: Mentor and guide the capture and client account management teams. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence. Help develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and capabilities.
  • Reporting and analysis: Monitor and report on the performance of strategic pursuits and client accounts. Use key performance indicators to refine strategies and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related major, plus 10 years of experience within the firm or in a similar technical/marketing environment.
