POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Services Manager I reports directly to the General Services Manager in the Office of General Services, Support Services Section and is responsible for supervising members assigned to the FDLE Property and Fleet Programs. The incumbent in this position spends the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work. This position has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommended such action.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Directing departmental property management to include updates to property records and the annual inventory;
- Ensuring department property custodians receive necessary training on property matters;
- Directing the Fleet Management program to include additions, deletions, and updates to fleet records, tags/titles and other fleet administration functions;
- Ensuring department leadership is provided with analytical reports on the status of the fleet and recommendations on the reassignment of existing vehicles and procurement of new vehicles;
- Overseeing the filing of claims with insurance carriers, notification and coordination of incidents with DMS Risk Management, coordination of legal issues with General Counsel, activities involving insurance administration to include facilities and department owned tangible property, liability, and civil insurance;
- Conducting advertisements for vacant positions, making selection recommendations, performing evaluations, and other personnel related functions;
- Making recommendations to improve and enhance Support Services functional areas, polices and procedures;
- Establishing procedures to achieve operational objectives by prioritizing assignments and establishing workloads; and
- Analyzing issues and recommending solutions to management.
