This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville. We primarily manufacture and overhaul components for the transit industry (subway and commuter rail). We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and stable work environment. Benefits include medical/dental/vision as well as many supplemental options at low rates. Summary

Responsible for performing general entry level production activities to include component sorting, packaging, transporting, assembly, and operating machinery to complete job orders.

First shift position - 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday-Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Package components for shipment
  • Basic assembly of components
  • Move material to and from workstation by forklift, hand, cart and crane as required 
  • Work with electrical and mechanical equipment 
  • Maintain equipment as required  
  • Use machinery safely and efficiently
  • Inspect and test completed units
  • Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, blueprints, and drawings
  • Interpret routing instructions.
  • Tag or mark identifying information on parts
  • Grease or lubricate parts as required
  • Adjust and grind down parts if necessary
  • Blast parts as required
  • Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections
  • Measure dimensions
  • Weigh and count parts
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Follow all housekeeping and safety rules
  • Other duties as required

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • 0-1 years experience in manufacturing environment; high school or technical school industrial training preferred
  • Ability to obtain forklift license
  • Experience with hand and power tools preferred
  • Basic math and measuring skills
  • Ability to read & interpret drawings & work procedures
  • Ability for critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in an enclosed area in an air supplied suit
  • Must be willing to work in team environment
  • Able to work with little supervision, is self-motivated and a self-starter

Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment.  The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic.  The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.
