About the role

Job Description:

Remitly is looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Development and Strategy in Seattle (relocation available) or / Remote to source, negotiate, structure, and execute impactful acquisitions and investments across all stages of the evaluation and acquisition process. This is a highly visible role and you will also support our strategy by identifying industry trends and maintaining relationships with startups, VCs and bankers. Additionally, you will contribute and be a part of the strategy planning process for the organization and support projects driving long-term strategy. This role will report to and partner closely with the Head of Corporate Development & Strategy and leaders across Remitly.

Responsibilities are global in scope, span all functions and businesses, and include strategy development, opportunity sourcing, proposal development, business modeling and forecasting, valuation analysis and operational analytics, and deal process leadership. The Sr. Manager will be a trusted partner across teams, have a high level of visibility within Remitly's management team, and work with company management, entrepreneurs, investment banks and investors.

You Will:

  • Originate and develop new growth ideas for our business, conducting primary and secondary industry research, and gathering perspectives from entrepreneurs, investors, consultants and investment bankers

  • Be an expert on Remitly's business and customers, the consumer financial services market, ecosystem of and collaborate with functional teammates

  • Conduct analysis including valuation and business case modeling to provide detailed guidance and insight into potential acquisitions, investments and other strategic opportunities

  • Push boundaries by presenting on new and emerging areas and white spaces including publishing strategic thought pieces for management

  • Support deal negotiation and diligence, including cross-functional coordination of product, engineering, legal, and other diligence supporting teams to evaluate targets

  • Be comfortable working in a high growth environment, building a new function, and taking on a wide variety of responsibilities as the group and Remitly scale

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate development (ideal), private equity or top tier investment bank. Prior Corporate Development or Strategic Finance experience is a plus

  • Experience in the consumer technology sector, ideally in consumer Financial Services or Fintech

  • Proficient and innovative analytical capabilities in terms of building P&Ls/pro-forma financial models, using advanced valuation methodologies and running analyses on operational metrics.

  • A naturally strategic perspective, ROI-focus, and sound logic; you support positions with solid rationale backed by evidence and data

  • Engaging, credible presence and style and the ability to communicate in a clear, convincing way, through both verbal, written and graphical means. A proven team player

  • The ability to lead and manage teammates supporting Corporate Development initiatives

  • Determination and resilience in the face of obstacles or challenges, and you execute with grace

  • You have a Bachelor's degree. MBA is desirable

  • Strong alignment with our mission and values

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $148,000 - $180,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
