 The anticipated hourly range for this position is $29.47/hr - $36.83/hr - $39.78/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's applicable experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Adhering to System Values, Service Excellence and Standards of Behavior, The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for the treatment of patients with orthopedic, neurological, complex-medical and other diagnoses that affect a person’s strength, range of motion, endurance and overall function.  The Staff Physical Therapy Assistant will utilize therapeutic exercise, modalities, and activities to achieve the highest function possible, working within the acute inpatient, SNF/swing and outpatient levels of care 
This position works closely with medical staff, clinical staff, and support staff as well as with staff of any institution in the NCH system or which UCVH provides contracted Physical Therapy.  Age of populations servedPediatric (1-12years), Adolescence 13-17 years, Adult 18-64 years, and Geriatrics 65 and above.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: 

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program as determined by the American Physical Therapy Association or have successfully passed the state exam. 

 

Certification: 

  • All employees and contracted staff will have either successful completion of an American Heart Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS), or ACLS and PALS combined. (for clinical staff), Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis 

*Refer to the NCH Life Support Certification Policy for position specific requirements. 

Licensure: 

  • Must hold a current Physical Therapy Assistant license from the New Hampshire Office of Allied Health Professions or be eligible for licensure.  
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license. 

 

Skills: 

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask. 
  • Excellence in customer service and communication skills. 
  • Competence in computer use.
