The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Engineering Technician Level 3 and 4, to join our team in Pleasanton, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and releases electrical/mechanical drawings.
  • Manages, interprets, and develops design, test, and analytical requirements.
  • Coordinates, manages, and leads activities, including lab maintenance and repairs, and personnel training.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional groups, internal partners, and external suppliers to meet work objectives and resolve problems.
  • Performs internal peer reviews and collaborate with colleagues in the team.
  • Participates in design reviews.
  • Validates engineering system design and functionality.
  • Works with hardware and software design engineers to bring-up and debug new board designs.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex laboratory and test-related problems including component level debug of circuit boards.
  • Performs design verification testing and supports post-production activities.
  • Follows and up-holds company lab guidance and standards to ensure compliance.
  • 5+ years of relevant experiences working in engineering lab.
  • Self-motivator and take ownership of work assignments and projects.
  • Ability to execute multiple project and work assignments with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 8 years of technical lab experience, or Associate degree with 6 years' experience or Bachelor's degree with 4 year's experience
  • Level 3: 5 years of technical lab experience, or Associate degree with 3 years' experience or Bachelor's degree with 1+ years' experience
  • Experience using design tools to document and maintain configuration control
  • Experience working with circuit board development, troubleshoot, debug, and repair
  • Experience with performing lab and bench tests

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with hand-on assembly, practical soldering, troubleshooting, debugging, and innovative problem-solving
  • Experience with designing and building test fixtures
  • Experience with hand-on assembly, practical soldering, troubleshooting, debugging, and innovative problem-solving
  • Familiar with schematic capture and circuit board layout tools
  • Experience working in cross-functional team settings
  • Experience with military/defense programs.
  • Experience in aviation industry.
  • Experience in production environment
  • Soldering certification.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.)

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
