POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, this position is responsible for analyzing requests for criminal history and forming recommendations with regard to the dissemination of criminal history information. This position is responsible for evaluating applications and making recommendations on eligibility based on their evaluations. This position is responsible for establishing customer accounts within the Applicant Services Unit systems and related applications. This position also acts as a liaison with various agencies, entities, and the general public and provides quality service. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification, as required, and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Evaluating and analyzing incoming requests and applying state and federal rules, laws, and procedures to formulate a recommendation and ensuring compliance with agency requirements;
  • Maintaining liaison with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies, other criminal justice agencies outside the State of Florida, non-criminal justice agencies, and the general public;
  • Reviewing and processing requests for criminal history information for general public, statutorily mandated entities, and those authorized by state and federal law;
  • Maintaining various logs and records of the requests received and processed;
  • Applying rules, procedures, and policies related to the dissemination of criminal history information;
  • Evaluating National Child Protection Act applications for eligibility and processing based on Applicant Services Unit's Standard Operating Procedures and other internal resources.
  • Establishing customer accounts within the various Applicant Services Unit-related systems and related applications;
  • Logging into the Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) line promptly and responding to customer requests in a professional and courteous manner. Remaining logged in and processing transactions, unless on a pre-defined break or otherwise directed by a supervisor;
  • Establishing customer accounts within the various Applicant Services Unit-related systems and related applications; and
  • Updating organization profiles within multiple databases, as requested.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices;
  • Knowledge of Financial Management payment processing procedures;
  • Ability to record, collect, evaluate, and analyze data;
  • Ability to organize files, records, and/or other materials;
  • Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically;
  • Ability to operate personal computers and other office equipment;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data;
  • Ability to follow instructions;
  • Ability to read and interpret state statutes; and
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

 

BASE SALARY:

  • $42,200.00
