Senior Researcher

As a Senior Researcher you will have the opportunity to design and lead the implementation of state-of-the-art computer vision multimodal models to transform the Windows experience. This is a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Research focusing on the field of computer vision with proficiency in deep learning(DL) techniques to help our devices compute better understanding of the user and the environment.
• Implementation: Train, distill, and finetune computer vision models in PyTorch, AzureML stack.
• Machine learning engineering: Build pipelines to test designs, algorithms and models. 
• Data science: Research and develop synthetic data generation strategies.
• Proactively follow state of the art research and share latest work, write papers, attend conferences and share knowledge in the wider team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research) 
  • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research) 
  • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field 
  • OR equivalent experience. 
• 3+ years of experience in Python and 2+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as Pytorch and Tensorflow. 
• Experience in computer vision and/or signal processing.   
• Experience in deep learning, including the mechanisms behind operators and numerical optimization.

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
