Summary

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Systems Senior Administrator. This position will provide day-to-day plant systems support to plant and distribution center inventory control, warehouse management, product labeling, and other manufacturing systems components as they relate to processing plant operations, control and supply chain management systems.  Also, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.  Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.  Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established Manufacturing Systems policies and procedures.  Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.  Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.  Ensures data/media recoverability by offsite storage and retrieval services.  Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.  Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.  Assists Applications, Infrastructure and Telecommunications teams in change and version management and problem resolution.  Ensures all changes follow proper change control protocols.  

 

Work hours may be adjusted to accommodate support requirements.  Requires on-call time for non-scheduled work hours.   

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides support for all information and manufacturing system operations activities (multi-shift), including computer and network operations, troubleshooting, data control/security, documentation, software version control, backup/recovery and system performance.
  • Demonstrates the mastery of skills necessary to support all levels of supply chain applications, control, scaling/labeling, desk top computing and network.  Assists with hardware/software and application specifications and selection.
  • Understands the hardware, software and applications from a users’ standpoint to ensure proper problem resolution.  Monitors system performance, perform system checks, and develop/enforce procedures established for system use.  Enforces Corporate manufacturing system admin, LAN admin, change management, asset management, security, technical standards, IT policy, procedure and best practices.  Audits and reports non-compliance and remediation plans.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements training programs for plant mfg systems support associates.  
  • Manages the implementing of hardware/software/application changes and additions.  Ensures users are using system properly to maintain data integrity, security and recoverability.  Assists in Project Management tasks. Participates in Manufacturing Systems problem reporting, project planning and corporate communication sessions.
  • Provides work direction and training to lower level associates.  Helps with the hiring of Mfg Systems personnel, assigns personnel to projects and directs their activities.

 

Required Education and Experience

Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Technology or Business Management plus 5 years related work experience or in the absence of an Associates degree, total experience would equal 9 years. Requires experience or education in microprocessor based equipment, Microsoft product knowledge on Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Voice/Data, Network Administration, Database Administration, and Unix or Linux operating systems.  Work hours may be adjusted to accommodate support requirements.  Requires on-call time for non-scheduled work hours.   

Preferred Experience and Education

BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Technology, Engineering or Business Management or related discipline.  Additional experience in manufacturing systems such as ComputerWay Food Systems, OSSID, Marel or Kronos Time and Attendance; project management experience and/or education.

Compensation Data

This position has a target salary range of $28 to $31 per hour and is eligible for comprehensive benefits.
