Job Purpose

Will serve as a member of the Sales Operations Team and use strong analytical skills to drive deep insight to a wide range of business projects. Will be an internal & external data expert positioned to work with key partners across multiple functional and business areas. Insights and findings from analysis will be used to influence and drive LPs segment and business strategies and tactics. Recommendations will be passed on to key decision makers throughout the organization.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provides accurate and timely sales, financial, market, industry trend, and activity information primarily to the sales department.
  • Prepares sales, budget, rebate, and Return on Investment reports; perform general trend analysis and forecasts.
  • Participates in and coordinate the annual budget development process for assigned group; assist senior management in preparation for presentation to budget committee.
  • Uses traditional and advanced research and analysis methods to support business, segment and product strategies related growth and innovation projects or opportunities.
  • Gains deep market related insights by engaging developers, channel partners, specifiers, manufacturing operations, etc. using quantitative / qualitative surveys and interviews.
  • Works collaboratively across functional groups and levels to gather relevant and accurate data and information.
  • Synthesizes analytical results into deliverables that communicate key insights and implications to be presented to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Works closely with Sales partners and third party vendors in researching and collecting data.
  • Designs and develops standard periodic reporting formats.
  • Works on special projects that arise from audits, studies, etc.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Experience analyzing sales data and obtaining meaningful insights.
  • 5+ years’ sales analysis, financial analysis, or accounting experience.
  • Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Excel, Tableau, and Salesforce.com preferred.
  • Knowledge of sales performance management preferred.

  • The ability to effectively work on a small team where members are expected to take on significant responsibility
  • Resourcefulness, with an ability to concur ambiguity and find solutions where they are not obvious
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing concepts
  • Knowledge of forest products and building industry preferred
  • Knowledge of current statistical analysis tools, metrics and software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Skill in trend and forecast modeling
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and team building skills
  • Ability to work independently and interact with a team and other functional groups
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial results, costs, and trends

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred. 

Work Environment

  • Hybrid: Office/Remote environment 
  • Some travel required
