The Warehouse Specialist provides logistics and warehouse management support to United States Marine Corps acquisition and sustainment operations. The position is responsible for the receipt, storage, preservation, inventory management, packaging, and shipment of Government property while ensuring accountability, accuracy, and compliance with applicable Marine Corps, Department of Defense (DoD), and contractual requirements. The Warehouse Specialist maintains property records, supports inventory reconciliation activities, manages serialized and sensitive assets, and ensures adherence to safety, environmental, and facility security standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, identify, and process incoming Government property, equipment, and material in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform storage, preservation, handling, and protection of assets to ensure readiness and prevent loss or damage.
  • Execute inventory control functions including cycle counts, physical inventories, location surveys, and inventory adjustments.
  • Conduct reconciliation activities to support Custody Asset Records (CAR) and Custodian Memorandum Receipt (CMR) accuracy and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate property accountability and warehouse records utilizing Government logistics and inventory management systems, including GCSS-MC and other authorized automated systems as applicable.
  • Manage serialized, controlled, and sensitive assets in accordance with established accountability procedures and security requirements.
  • Prepare, package, label, document, and ship equipment and materials in compliance with military transportation and hazardous material regulations, when applicable.
  • Verify shipping and receiving documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and record inconsistencies.
  • Support property transfers, issue and turn-in processes, and equipment fielding activities.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, storage configurations, and material handling practices to maximize efficiency and accountability.
  • Operate material handling equipment and warehouse support equipment in accordance with safety regulations and certification requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, hazardous material, and facility security requirements.
  • Assist in warehouse inspections, audits, and Government property accountability reviews.
  • Prepare inventory, accountability, and logistics reports as required.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have an active secret clearance.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply, inventory management, or Government property accountability.
  • Experience supporting military, Department of Defense, or Government logistics operations preferred.
  • Experience using automated inventory management systems, including GCSS-MC, preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required Government security clearance or installation access credentials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and Government property accountability procedures.
  • Knowledge of Marine Corps and Department of Defense logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Familiarity with GCSS-MC and other automated inventory management systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and conduct reconciliation activities.
  • Knowledge of serialized and sensitive item accountability requirements.
  • Ability to interpret shipping documents, inventory reports, and logistics records.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and warehouse tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and logistics management systems.
  • Ability to communicate
