About the role

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is a hands-on professional responsible for day-to-day general accounting, reporting, and analysis across multiple global entities and functional areas. This role requires expertise in implementing cloud-based ERP systems, with a preference for D365, and a strong focus on mandatory reporting creation. We are seeking a proactive doer, not a manager, who thrives on technical system work and possesses a deep understanding of the debit and credit world. The ideal candidate will take charge of the general ledger, making it their own, and relish the opportunity to bring order to a sometimes chaotic financial environment. The Senior Accountant will lead process improvement initiatives and ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute the implementation of cloud-based ERP systems, with a preference for D365, collaborating with IT and external partners.
  • Create and maintain mandatory reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with domestic and foreign regulations.
  • Undertake day-to-day general ledger and period-end activities, including posting journal entries, adjusting the trial balance, calculating accruals and deferrals, and performing comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Manage various accounting operations such as cash and banking, fixed asset accounting, accounts payables, accounts receivable, travel expenses, corporate credit cards, and taxes.
  • Establish and maintain robust supporting documentation for journal entries, adjustments, accruals, and account balances.
  • Review, analyze, and contribute to the preparation of monthly or ad-hoc presentation materials based on monthly results.
  • Collaborate with IT and external partners for continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
  • Take the lead in external and/or internal audit engagements, preparing audit materials, responding to inquiries, and monitoring engagement progress.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve accounting and reporting issues by partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to accounting processes and workflows.
  • Participate actively in special projects focused on improving process efficiency and performance.
