Operate all fin presses. 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

• • Loads machines with various types of fin stock.
  • Operates fin presses 
  • Requires surveillance of machine while running fin stock to prevent die jams and damage to dies.
  • Inspects parts for width, thickness, length, and square
  • Forms and cuts off fin pads per shop order.
  • Clean filters and changes oil per requirement.
  • Uses hand truck to move loads in and out of department and when loading presses.
  • Uses overhead hoist when loading and unloading machine.
  • Keeps accurate inventory of all parts.
  • Maintain fin press logbooks.

Your Education Should Be…

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Works indoors in well-lighted factor atmosphere. Constant exposure to oil. Some exposure to aluminum chips. Continuous exposure to up and down pounding of machine operation. Some individuals may develop skin irritation. Requires some sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and pulling. Most lifting, 0 – 20 lbs.; some lifting 20 – 50 lbs. When lifting over 50 lbs., two people are required.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

• • Work from shop orders
  • Work on repetitious job with limited on-the-job training.
  • Use measuring devices.
  • Manual dexterity.
