This position is in our high-volume Neuroscience Institute where 19 providers with 8 specialties provide the most advanced care for conditions impacting the brain. Our expert neurologists are improving care and research for many conditions including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and brain injury. Our skilled neurosurgeons provide cutting edge therapies for complex conditions such as brain aneurysms, epilepsy, spinal disorders and many other conditions.

As a RN in this clinic, you will provide personalized coordination with the specific needs of the Neurosurgery service line, for a specific provider helping with triage calls, pre and post op calls, patient surgical education, and clinic prep. They will also assist the clinic support staff with navigating clinical data to support prior authorizations for surgeries

The schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM, working with a strong team that supports the community need for Neurosurgeons. This role works closely with the clinic team to maintain strong relationships with our patients, who are guided with personal care throughout their experience. Whomever fills this role will have the opportunity to grow their existing skill set and learn new skills. Our Neurosurgeons lean to the RNs to be open about what our patients need, and work with them to develop the tools to support our patient care plans. Neuro experience and surgical experience would be preferred, however, all nursing experience will be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.

2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s statu
