Job Summary

The Network and Satellite Application Specialist is a senior Analyst at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) within the Mass General Brigham (MGB) Digital Department. This member will be part of the DFCI Satellite, Network and Pediatric Oncology Clinic IS Team supporting the DFCI Regional Campuses (Satellites).
The Application Specialist is a senior analyst responsible for workflow, business process, technical analysis, and support on medium to large scale projects, including the design, development and implementation of key Clinical IT initiatives with contracted hospitals that have a business relationship with DFCI. The role of the analyst is to support existing complex integration with our community partners, work closely with the user community to support workflow process with software design and implementation, participate in new interface projects and manage small to medium projects or sub-projects. Satellite integration includes patient and clinical data interfaces, as well as firewall and technical components of the integration. The Analyst must be able to create and maintain a healthy working relationship with the Satellite Clinic end users, DFCI Satellite leadership, MGB Epic Teams and the community partners’ IT departments.
The position will be responsible for the data interfaces and integration points between DFCI and our community hospital partners.
• Develop an understanding of the Satellite Clinics’ operations and the uniqueness of each satellite compared to main campus.
• Exemplary analytical skills and strong written and verbal skills, supporting workflow process and software design.
• Work closely with community IT departments on application access or interface issues. Troubleshoot data interface errors through technical and operational means.
• Work closely with each Satellite Clinic’s leadership to support the IT needs of the clinics.
• Provide application support for the MD Staff credentialing and provider management system, including troubleshooting, user support, and coordination with vendor support as needed.
• Support users of the Boston Children’s Hospital Mosaic project (Epic), including collaboration with BCH IT teams, ensuring integration with DFCI systems, and assisting with workflow optimization and user support


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Information Systems preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
experience in the development, support or operation of software applications, preferably in a healthcare setting 5-7 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Provide quality customer service to the satellite clinic users. Know when to seek and accept guidance from those with advanced experience; able to provide guidance and/or support when needed, such as orientating new staff into the group.
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to detail & format.  Experience in developing, executing, and troubleshooting testing scenarios.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal skills. Must be well organized and systematic in work process. Able to develop and implement new system procedures.
  • Coordinate and complete multiple complex tasks to completion independently or with minimal guidance, ability to prioritize tasks with an appreciation for critical paths.
  • Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively facilitating group projects towards a successful completion of goals and able to independently conduct meetings, both informal and formal, including user meetings
  • Able to identify complex problems, their probable causes, their impact on operations, report them to the appropriate parties, offer possible solutions, and decide on the optimal course of action; able to independently and/or collaboratively bring problems to complete resolution.
  • Knowledge of the workflows and operations supported by the software application(s).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and other popular office productivity solutions.
