Overview of the Role
The Senior Manager, Insights will lead the development and execution of consumer, shopper and category initiatives to support strategic objectives for the US Division and the Global Commercial team.
This role is responsible for analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape to identify actionable insights that will drive profitable category growth.
The ideal candidate will advocate for a consumer-centric approach and stay ahead of industry trends to provide valuable insights that support strategic decision-making within the organization. The successful candidate will leverage their innate curiosity and enthusiasm to influence internal and external stakeholders and implement effective category solutions, establishing themselves as the leading Insights expert.
How you will make contributions that matter:
Lead consumer insights initiatives to gain a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape.
Synthesize data from multiple sources to identify key insights and opportunities and translate these into compelling category narratives.
Socialize insights throughout the organization to elevate consumer and category knowledge and enable fact-based decision making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including strategy, marketing, innovation and sales to align category strategies with business objectives
Proactively highlight business issues, opportunities and risks to relevant commercial colleagues
Form part of the wider innovation forum responsible for identifying and developing new product opportunities
Conduct new product launch tracking and analysis to identify critical insights that improve performance and inform future launches
Partner with sales to develop win/win category strategies and provide presentation support as needed.
Provide objective category management expertise and recommendations to our customers in the areas of product, pricing, promotion, assortment and merchandising to establish Saputo as trusted experts
Contribute to the Global Commercial agenda by providing US insights to the global audience, collaborating with divisional counterparts on key business issues and opportunities, and sharing best practices.
Manage the insights budget and knowledge library by developing plans to further evolve the consumer, shopper and category knowledge while ensuring a strong ROI on data investment
Develop and manage relationships with external research partners, lead the end-to-end research process and stay current on new methodologies
Actively participate in the IBP process by highlighting category performance, evolving consumer trends and implications to the business
Develop, lead and mentor direct reports to promote insights and analytics excellence
Demonstrate strong leadership, a positive attitude and model Saputo values consistently
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field
8+ years experience in supporting category management, with consumer/shopper insights, or related roles within the CPG industry
Critical thinker with a strategic and results orientated mindset
Excellent business acumen and communication skills
Strong organizations skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
Able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
Excellent presentation skills with ability to influence across all levels of the organization both internally and externally
Experience with market research tools and techniques
Solid understanding of the US Retail & Foodservice landscape
Experience with Circana (Unify+Platform) and/Nielsen required. Experience with shopper loyalty card data and insights are strongly preferred
Experience with foodservice tools such as Datassential, Technomic, Mintel, and NPD Crest is considered an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Salary grade: $104,730 - $137-455.
