Software Development Engineer III

We're looking for a capable, motivated Software Development Engineer III to join us in building the best customer support platform.

In this role, you will:

• Own and deliver high-quality, high-performance, well-supported code for a distributed messaging environment

• Excel at communicating with your team, to build solid solutions

• Lead the investigation and resolution of production issues

• Be a champion for refactoring and perfecting code

• Collaborate effectively with TPMs, Product Managers and Engineers of various technical backgrounds

• Cross organizational boundaries to collaborate with other technology teams and solve integrated problems

• Technologies we use: Java, AWS, Kafka, Node.js, Kotlin, React, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, S3, Lambda, Docker, Data Dog

Experience and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience developing solid code in Java

• Proven self-discipline, dependability, and accountability

• Solid understanding of Java, distributed systems and web technologies

• Experience with AWS, Lambda and No-SQL databases

• Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present sophisticated technical information in a clear and concise manner.

• Ability to quickly research and solve technical problems

• Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks

• Willingness to work flexible hours at times, based on a geographically distributed team

• Experienced in solving real-time distributed computing problems

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
