Summary
This is an open and continuous recruitment which will remain open and close without notice once a sufficient pool of highly-qualified candidates has been created.
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Utility Maintenance Aide - Field Operations (Part-Time) in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual labor tasks associated with the routine maintenance and repair of water, sewer, and utility facilities and assists with general warehouse and inventory tasks; and performs related duties as assigned.
SPECIAL NOTE:
- The current vacancy is a part-time, PERS-eligible position
- This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, wage increases, or union representation.
- The work schedule will be Tuesday - Thursday 6:00 am to 4:00 pm but can be changed based on Department needs.
- The work schedule will consist of an average of 29 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department needs.

Examples of duties
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- One (1) year of full-time experience performing construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution, reclaimed water, and wastewater collection system
- Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate OSHA card as defined by the Nevada Revised Statue (NRS 618.950)
- Must obtain and maintain City Forklift Certification within thirty (30) days of hire
- Employee will be expected to complete assigned training courses through the City of Henderson's learning management system
- All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and at the incumbents’ expense
