Job Description
The primary function of this role is to manage the excess and obsolete product base to increase sales through national distribution channels, agency relationships, E-commerce markets and new alternative channels. This position will be responsible for directly interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to execute sales plans. It is required to identify and coordinate training needs, drive product promotions, provide problem resolution in order to optimize Current’s revenue plan. - Excess and Obsolete Inventory Management: As a sales representative, the key responsibility is to effectively manage excess and obsolete inventory. This involves developing strategies and executing sales plans through alternative channels, distributor counter and inside personnel, agency and Lighting sales teams. The overall goal is to optimize sales and track progress toward reducing excess and obsolete inventory levels.
- Reduction and Prevention of Excess and Obsolete Components: This role includes actively working toward reducing and preventing the accumulation of excess and obsolete components. This may involve identifying trends and patterns, analyzing inventory data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for proactive inventory management.
- Education and Training on Excess and Obsolete Inventory: This role will educate and train internal and external stakeholders about the existence of excess and obsolete inventory. This includes providing information on the impact of such inventory, future trends, and the importance of reducing and preventing its occurrence. By increasing awareness, we can drive efforts to minimize excess and obsolete components.
- Demand Generation for Excess and Obsolete Inventory: Creating marketing and demand generation tools specifically focused on excess and obsolete components is vital. This role will develop strategies and initiatives to drive demand for these products through existing and new alternative channels. This includes targeted campaigns, promotions, and communication to generate interest and sales.
- Collaboration with Pricing and Fulfillment Teams: Collaborating with Pricing and Fulfillment teams is essential to implement effective strategies for reducing and preventing excess and obsolete inventory. This involves determining appropriate pricing strategies, optimizing fulfillment processes, and ensuring efficient order management for these specific components.
- Special Projects for Excess and Obsolete Reduction: As assigned by leadership or dictated by organizational focus, this role may undertake special projects specifically aimed at reducing excess and obsolete inventory. These projects may involve conducting data analysis, implementing process improvements, or exploring innovative solutions to address this challenge.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years Sales experience in lighting industry
- Strong selling skills with ongoing resiliency
- History of focus on company sales growth through a variety of sales channels
- Ability to sell products based on customer needs and requirements
- Some travel required as needed, approximately 10-15%
- Self-driven and motivated to drive sales at approved profitable levels
- Comfort level with holding a very visible sales role that bring top line growth to the business
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $60,000-$80,000.
