Description:  Reservoir Engineer – Well Analysis and Design

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the full-time position of  Reservoir Engineer within the Well Analysis and Design Team in the ORCM Midland Basin Business group, based in Houston, Texas.   

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide reservoir engineering development recommendations and support for Midland Basin assets. Support includes integration of subsurface data with production data, understanding risks and opportunities in each area of responsibility, and estimating well performance at a given development scenario  understanding and optimizing for key productivity drivers is critical. 

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining type well profiles for all potential benches for development Includes assessing risk factors and ranges of outcomes for well performance at different spacing recommendations. 

  • Optimize well spacing/stacking/landing patterns alongside completions engineers and geoscientists. 

  • Provide technical support for unconventional EOR development projects. 

  • Support field development plans, as well as business plan and reserves cycles as needed. 

  • Prepare forecasts for PDP locations, undeveloped location bookings, and associated documentation for annual reserves booking process. 

  • Responsible for the surveillance of wedge well performance in areas of responsibility. Provide periodic updates of actual well performance as compared to expectations, and the main causes of any deviations, to key stakeholders. 

  • Integrator and coordinator of program lookbacks to evaluate lessons learned and improvements for future programs. Such responsibility includes evaluating and communicating well performance results and assessment of science diagnostics. 

  • Provide reservoir engineering support for base producing wells, as well as any recompletion or workover candidates.
