Job Description Summary

The School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the newly created position of Financial Analyst. This position will report to the Director of Finance & Planning and is an integral member of the SP2 Finance team.

SP2’s Financial Analyst position will interact directly with the school’s senior finance leadership to gather, analyze, disseminate, and summarize financial data, and prepare and present recommendations on financial activities.

This role will help to ensure long-term viability of the school’s financial infrastructure.

* All SP2 staff are required to participate in convocation and graduation ceremonies as needed

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking. Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Study proposed changes in methods and materials
  • Prepares internal financial reports as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in convocation and graduation ceremonies as needed.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for the Financial Analyst position will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with two to three years of financial reporting and analysis experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Ability to work well with diverse constituencies, including faculty, in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, verbal and written communication is required
