Job Title: Concessions Crew Member

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Hours: Seasonal part-time (Monday - Friday including some evening hours and holidays with a flexible schedule of at least 24 hours per week)

Wage: $14.25/hour

Summary:

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Crew Member in the Concessions Department to provide excellent guest service to the public by working in a variety of concessions operations including daily food preparation, daily setting up service and cooking areas, cash register operations, and cleaning. This position reports directly to the Assistant Manager and Concession Supervisors.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Works in a professional manner to provide exceptional guest service in a high traffic location.
• Listens and communicates effectively while anticipating guest needs; works with Supervisor to resolve guests concerns.
• Operate POS systems in accordance to policy with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Promotes a teamwork environment; assist co-workers when necessary.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Ensure that work and food surfaces are kept clean and neat at all times; this includes kitchen area, dishes, floors, and outside maintenance.
• Daily setup and food preparation.
• Operation of kitchen equipment including, but not limited to: fryer, grill, and cleaning equipment.
• Adhere to Douglas County Health Department rules and regulations for food service.
• Accurately take guests orders.
• Accurately prepare guests orders in a timely manner.
• Provide general information about prices, location of specific attractions/exhibits and safety rules.
• Participate in the coordination, set up, and tear down of activities.
• Adhere to safe work practice and procedures. Report any accidents immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.
• Adhere and comply with the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium Employee Handbook.

Job Requirements:

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be available to work up to 24 hours each week.
• Must be available to work holidays.
• Must have an outgoing and engaging personality.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. 
• Ability to communicate clearly.

Experience:

• Prior cash handling experience preferred but not required.
• Prior guest service experience preferred but not required.

Working Environment and Physical Effort:

Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment, but candidate may be asked to perform in other areas to include outdoor locations. Must wear close toe shoes. While in performance of job duties the employee is required to stand; walk, use hands to handle, signal and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch and/or crawl; talk and hear; frequently lift 25 pounds using safe and proper methods.
