About the role

Benefits Data Trust (BDT), a nonprofit organization with nearly 20 years of experience improving access to public benefits, seeks an experienced and energetic Director of Marketing to build and lead its new marketing team. BDT’s new Marketing Director will have an opportunity to build a program for an organization committed to ending America’s benefits gap. Roughly $80 billion in healthcare, food assistance, and other benefits goes untapped each year, even as one in 10 Americans lives in poverty. BDT works across the country to help connect people in need with these critical benefits while simultaneously helping to modernize the benefits system.

BDT’s marketing efforts are focused on developing relationships with new philanthropic funders and government, healthcare, and educational customers who can benefit from our experience, expertise, and technology. The Marketing Director, who will be part of an eight-member Communications and Marketing Team, will execute an organization-wide marketing plan and implement the needed routines and systems. The Marketing Director will help create strategic direction; implement technology and processes; plan and execute high-impact, multi-channel campaigns; and then use data to optimize performance. This is a highly visible role that requires collaboration with colleagues across the organization at all levels.

We seek an enthusiastic and creative leader who can create a high-energy culture and drive quality lead generation for an ambitious nonprofit. If this sounds like you, we want to talk. BDT is a remote-fist organization. Employees may work remotely or from BDT’s Philadelphia office.

● Work with technical professionals internally and externally to implement and optimize CRM and marketing automation technology

● Collaborate with sales teams in four verticals— philanthropy, government, healthcare, and education—to develop true partnerships, working together to generate high-quality leads and nurture those leads into sales

● Work with departments across BDT to take full advantage of the organization’s research and data capabilities, using those strengths to bolster marketing efforts
