Senior Accountant

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a high level of proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have a strong understanding of both cash basis and GAAP accrual accounting. Cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required. Additionally, a basic understanding of software and database functionality would be highly beneficial in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  
• Cash Reconciliations: Perform daily cash reconciliations, using machine reports provided to ensure accuracy.
  
• Daily Accounting Tasks: Manage and execute daily accounting operations, ensuring all entries are completed accurately.
  
• AP & AR Management: Handle accounts payable (AP) coding, accounts receivable (AR) management, and vendor relationships.
  
• Follow-Up on Action Items: Manage follow-up emails for vendor credits, invoices for payment, and other action items.
  
• QBO Integration & Software Onboarding: Assist in onboarding and mapping for QuickBooks Online integration software.
  

Requirements:

• High proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  
• High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  
• Understanding of cash basis and GAAP accrual accounting principles.
  
• Experience with cannabis industry accounting preferred but not required.
  
• Basic understanding of how software/databases work and how to apply them in accounting.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the cannabis industry.
  
• Experience with software/database integration and accounting systems.
