About the role

Job Description

The Sustainability Specialist provides leadership to multiple operations to maintain positive relationships with all customers, as well as local vendors, for Aramark’s account at North Carolina Central University. This position is responsible for continuous improvement and accountability with customer care and property-level participation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Team Development and Management
    • Provide leadership, training, and guidance aimed at promoting student engagement, community relations, and client satisfaction.
    • Champion and actively manage the critical student engagement and customer feedback processes as defined for the account
    • Provide timely information to students, clients, and associates on pertinent information
    • Conduct student focus group meetings, customer satisfaction surveys, and develop strategies for the account
    • Participate in campus and municipal community relations initiatives as defined by Aramark and the Client
    • Accompany food service managers during student or customer meetings and provide structured feedback
    • Provide leadership, training, and guidance aimed at promoting Aramark’s Do Well Be Well program.
    • Host educational tabling events around campus & at dining locations, including events promoting local food purchasing, Plant Forward eating, waste minimization, food insecurity education, BIPOC farmer support, and composting.   
    • Create educational marketing materials for distribution to the student body and write content for the account website. 
    • Support long-term projects, such as local food reporting, waste auditing, food recovery, farmers market coordination, etc. . 
    • Research sustainability initiatives and best practices around the country and evaluate current sustainability programs at the account

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; good presentation skills
  • Ability to bring customer and supplier together to demonstrate Aramark value proposition
  • Solid purchasing program, supply chain knowledge experience to be credible with customers and vendors
  • Experience in Higher Education environments
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
  • The ability to work independently with a flexible schedule; being able to prioritize multiple projects and requirements to include customer visits, follow-up work, formal documentation of the accomplishments and internal support requests
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Hospitality/Recreation industry
