The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to providers within the Jefferson Comprehensive Weight Management (JCWM) program. This role supports patient intake, vital signs, documentation, Epic workflows, and overall clinic operations to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. Position follows a hybrid schedule based on operational needs.Job Description
Essential Functions
Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
Obtain and document vital signs, height/weight, BMI, and other required clinical measures.
Perform medication reconciliation and update patient histories, allergies, and screenings in Epic.
Support provider workflows through chart prep and documentation support.
Assist with Epic In-Basket tasks and assigned clinical messaging workflows.
Coordinate patient flow and support efficient clinic operations.
Support completion of forms, clinical paperwork, and documentation requests.
Maintain exam room readiness, including cleaning, stocking, and supply monitoring.
Assist with uploading/scanning outside records and maintaining program documentation.
Participate in team huddles, meetings, training, and workflow improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and Jefferson Health policies and procedures.
Provide excellent customer service and a patient-centered experience.
