Mechanical Repair Technician
Summary
The successful candidate for Mechanical Repair Technician will join an established team in Dalton, GA working in a modern air-conditioned workshop. We repair components and assemblies from German hi-tech textile machinery. Our technicians work independently on projects from start to finish. Quality and precision are the skill sets that we desire most. This is a M-F 1st shift position with regular work hours.
Responsibilities
To repair mechanical items in a timely manner, including:
- Chucks
- Blowers
- Godets
- Blowers
- Pumps
- Motors
- Rolls
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete work orders for all repairs
- Assist in pulling and stocking inventory as needed
- Operate forklift occasionally (In-house training and certification program if needed)
- Pull parts and manage stock levels for above repairs
Equipment to be used:
- Hand tools including wrenches, hammers and screw drivers
- Inspection equipment including calibers, gauges, test stands Hydraulic press
- Drills
- Grinders
- Pallet jacks and fork lift
Your Profile
- You have an associate degree or equivalent military experience.
- You will have a mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical assemblies
- You've had previous mechanical repair experience (preferred)
- You are reliable, self-motivated, and willing to learn
- You have a familiarity of shop machines such as: bench grinder, lathe, milling machine, hand tools, soldering / de-soldering iron, drill press, multi-meter, arbor press, hydraulic press and pneumatic screwdriver
- You can lift 50 lbs.
- You can communicate effectively and at different levels with internal and external customers and employees
- You can speak, read, and write English fluently
- You have knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits and ability to trouble shoot to component level on circuit boards.
