Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting in all aspects of HR including performance management, training, employee relations and compensation. Will maintain an active, hands-on role in day-to-day activities and communication with the ShineMark employee base as well as drive continuous improvement throughout the department.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for all non-exempt and non-management exempt positions.
- Conduct new employee orientation, coordinates pre-employment drug tests, background checks and prepares new hire packages.
- Lead projects and processes regarding employee engagement, performance management, talent management, people development, safety and departmental process improvements.
- Address employee relations and policy concerns and provide coaching and support to managers as required. Operate as trusted advisor for U.S. Operations team, as well as other areas of the business as applicable.
- Develop and conduct training such as Harassment-Free Workplace, Performance Management and Interviewing and Selection.
- Manage employee communication relative to Open Enrollment, Wellness and other initiatives.
- Manage new hire process from offer acceptance through on-boarding including pre-employment checks, new hire paperwork, orientation and partnering with managers on on-boarding plans.
- Lead or support employee committees such as United Way and Engagement committees.
- Take a pro active and intentional approach to engage and action D&I initiatives.
- Process payroll and provide monthly and quarterly reports to support HR and accounting relative to employment changes, vacation accrual, and headcount as required.
- Analysis of data to answer business questions and identify trends to support key business stakeholders.
- Answer routine employee questions and inquiries related to wellness, benefits, and payroll; as well as manage all FMLA, STD, ADA and Worker’s Compensation cases.
- Manage all employee data within HRIS system and process weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Audit HRIS system data for accuracy.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting comply.
- Supporting the HR Team on key HR Projects.
- Other administration and HR tasks as deemed reasonable by the HR department.

Qualifications
This is an on site position where prior Manufacturing or similar environment experience is required.
- Strong business partnership capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build networks of contacts externally and internally
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment, ability to work independently and function well in a team environment.
- Strategic thinking with ability to accelerate and influence change
- Excellent time and project management capabilities, must have a sense of urgency, able to prioritize including the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to travel 25% to Bloomfield, CT (twice a month)
