The Job:
As a Sr. Database Test Engineer - Automation, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our database systems and applications. As a remote employee and a key member of our Construction Technology team, you will:
- Design, develop, and execute test cases for database objects including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
- Validate business logic and complex calculations implemented in stored procedures
- Perform ETL pipeline testing to ensure accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Validate data across source, staging, and target systems for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
- Conduct data reconciliation using row counts, aggregates, and field-level comparisons
- Identify, analyze, and report data discrepancies and defects with clear root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts for automated data validation
- Validate handling of edge cases, null values, and exception scenarios
- Support UAT and production data validation activities
- Collaborate with data engineers, backend developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues
- Document test cases, test results, and data validation reports

- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and aggregations
- Experience in implementing strategies to reduce contention and deadlocks in multi-user environments.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing and benchmarking database performance, including identifying bottlenecks and optimizing query execution.
- Hands-on experience testing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
- Experience in ETL testing and data validation across multiple systems
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (fact/dimension tables, Slowly Changing Dimension (SCDs), star/snowflake schemas).
- Experience with relational databases such as Maria DB or MySQL
- Strong understanding of data quality, data reconciliation, and validation techniques
- Positive attitude with passion for customer value
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in construction and pre-fabrication a Bonus

The base pay range for this position in Colorado is $90,000- $162,000
