~The Sr. Associate of Distribution Planning is responsible for supporting the Distribution Planning Manager in all activities related to vehicle distribution planning. This includes vehicle production forecasting, constraint management, domestic plant and HMC North American Team collaboration. This individual will be required to conduct routine analysis of sales trends and apply forecasting methodologies to generate a highly accurate five month sales forecast aimed to increase the velocity of sales while limiting both Port/VPC Stock and obsolescent part inventory at the manufacturing level. Additionally this individual will be required to work with the assembly plants, region personnel, and the D&I Operations team for all activities impacting vehicle production and forecasting. The position impacts mission critical business processes that directly impact corporate cash flow, dealer relations, and legal compliance. Accuracy, completeness, and understanding the complexity of linked processes is essential to successfully execute this position.
Major Responsibilities
~ Generate sales forecasts on a monthly basis for a minimum of 2 designated series for domestic and HMC production.
~ Maintenance of sales planning documentation.
~ Analysis of sales trends and supporting management with all ad-hoc reports.
~ Become a subject matter expert regarding the Advanced Planning & Scheduling system (APSII).
~ Support Distribution Planning Manager in preparing, analyzing and finalizing month baseline forecast and demand management on APSII.
~ Conduct in-depth sales forecast reviews in order to increase accuracy.
~ Develop analytical methods and procedures to continually improve forecast accuracy.
~ Submit and track monthly production forecast accuracies with actual firm orders submitted.
~ Dialogue with HMA internal and external department along with HMMA, KMMG, Glovis, Mobis, and HISNA as required.
~ Maintain Excel templates and databases required to support the planning processes.
~ Maintain all vehicle information in SAP or APSII pertaining to planning which includes: model numbers general data (framework), material number, FIO availability, color combination, FSC setup and updates, surrogation and PLC, spec approvals, OCN and/or color change follow-up, follow-up on model launch timings, apply surrogation, troubleshoot any data issues, and report inconsistencies to management.
~ Submit APSII prioritization to the assembly plants as directed by management.
~ Work with APSII team to troubleshoot any system issues.

~ The authority for this position is limited to the exchange of data, generating forecasts and general support to the Distribution Planning Senior Manager.

Education
~ Must be a high school graduate~ Bachelor’s degree preferredRelated Experience
~ Four years of related experience with intermediate familiarity of excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTable, conditional formatting, etc…)
~ Forecasting, dealer contact, and vehicle distribution experience a plus
Skills/Knowledge
~ Strong analytical skills including proficiency in Excel and Word applications is essential.
~ Detail oriented, excellent organizational and communication skills.
