Work Location: Duke University Hospital - Inpatient Pediatric Pharmacy; Durham, NC

 

Working hours: 

• Full-Time (40-hours/week)

• Weekdays every other weekend, and holiday coverage

  • Rotating Shifts:

    • Day Shifts (6:30 am – 3:00 pm or 10:00 am – 6:30 pm)

    • Evening Shifts (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm; occasional  12:30 pm - 9:00 pm on weekends

    • On-call rotation and some Night Shift rotation (9:00 pm – 7:30 am)

 

General Description of the Job Class

• Perform under supervision a variety of technical duties related to the preparing and dispensing of drugs according to standard procedure. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

• Prepare intravenous admixtures or other sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition).

• Fill physician orders/prescriptions, medication carts, or stock requisitions.

• Fill daily restock request and appropriately document in the compounding software

• Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of compounding equipment

• Answer telephones and directs calls to appropriate personnel.
